March 14, 2013 - Thank you to our many guests and visitors for visiting with us at our Home and Lifestyle Show display held at the Porter County Expo Center on March 8-10, 2013.  We value our time with you and are always thankful to meet new friends and get acquainted once again with our long-time friends of the "Kent Heating and Air Conditioning Family".

I was astounded this year to have so many folks stop in and tell me what a great company and employee team we have, and how they saved so much money on their utility bills.  "You did exactly what you promised" was a phrase I heard frequently, and it made me proud of my entire staff and humbled me as the second generation owner of Kent Heating and Air.

As we move into our 59th year of serving Valparaiso, Chesterton, Portage, Crown Point, Hobart, Merrillville, and the extended Northwest Indiana region, you have our pledge to continue to do our best to deliver the most energy-efficient HVAC systems and professional service available.  Thank you for affording us the opportunity to serve you!

Sincerely,

Allen R. Kent, President

January 11, 2012 - Kent Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. President, Allen Kent, was presented the Lennox Centurion Award by Andrew Wingate, Lennox Territory Manager, at a special dinner engagement. This marks the 19th time Kent Heating has received this prestigious award, which recognizes the top 1% of Lennox dealers in each North American sales region.

Kent Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. has been a Lennox dealer since 1967, and Allen Kent believes this is significant.  Kent said, "Lennox is the first and only major residential equipment manufacturer that sells directly to the dealer. Other heating and air contractors must purchase through a wholesale supplier, who then purchases from the manufacturer.  As a result, Lennox is extremely versatile in the marketplace, responds to customer requests expeditiously, and delivers outstanding service at all levels."

Kent Heating will be celebrating 60 years in business in 2014, and 50 years as a Lennox dealer in 2017. The staff of Kent Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. extends a warm "thank you" to our many valuable customers who made this award possible!

December 4, 2012 - We fondly look forward to this special Holiday Season with thanksgiving for our wonderful customers, families, and friends.  This year we also give thanks for being awarded the "Best in Porter County" once again by the Post Tribune (www.post-trib.com) for Heating and Air Conditioning by you, our valued clients.  I am very thankful for and proud of our employee team who truly care about our customers each and every day, and go "above and beyond" on a frequent basis.  They won this award for our company.

We are like family at Kent Heating and Air, and enjoy that you are part of that family!  Thank you for your continued confidence in us, and we pledge to do our best to be the "Best in Porter, Lake, and LaPorte County" once again serving you as we move ahead into 2013!  It is our belief that you deserve nothing but the best and highest level of service and professionalism.

May you have a blessed Holiday Season filled with Joy, Peace, and Love!

Sincerely,

Allen Kent, President

September 20, 2012 - Woman in Need to Receive a New Furnace - Valerie Martinez of the Porter County Aging and Community Services (www.portercountyacs.org) contacted Allen Kent, President/CEO of Kent Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., regarding a client that has not had an operable furnace in her home for 2 years.  After visiting the site, Allen requested assistance from Lennox Industries, Inc. (www.lennox.com) through Territory Manager, Andrew Wingate.

We are pleased to announce that Lennox Industries has generously donated and delivered a new 92% efficient furnace for the job, and Kent Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. is donating equipment, labor, and all materials to complete the job on September 28, 2012.

"We are very happy for the opportunity to assist this client in dire need.  My concern was for her safety as she operated a kerosene heater all last winter in her home, which is very dangerous from a fire hazard and health (carbon monoxide) standpoint", said Allen.

Lennox Industries, Inc. is the leading manufacturer of residential and commercial heating, air conditioning, and indoor environmental quality equipment, and has 8000 independent dealers throughout North America.

Kent Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. has been a Lennox dealer for 45 years, and is a Lennox Premier Dealer as well as a Centurion Award winner which recognizes the top 100 Lennox dealers in North America.

April 6, 2012 - Kent Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. was the recipient of the prestigious Lennox Centurion Award at the recent Lennox Dealer Meeting held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis.  The Centurion Award recognizes the top 1% of Lennox dealers in each of the North American sales regions, and marks at least the 18th time Kent Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. has earned this award.

May 20, 2011 – Do you want to eliminate dust mites, mold and mildew for a cleaner, healthier, spring-like fresh smelling home? When you get out of the shower do you want to eliminate “dampness” on your skin within a minute after drying off with a towel? As you apply make-up at your bathroom sink do you want comfort without perspiration?

Kent Heating and Air Conditioning periodically installs and tests different products in employee’s homes in order to test the effectiveness of products they recommend. A new Lennox “Healthy Climate” model WH-090 whole house dehumidifier was installed recently, and yielded astonishing results with the goal of lowering the relative humidity level to 50% or lower.

Two hours after the installation the relative humidity was 62% in the home, and dropped to 41% after 6 hours. We adjusted the desired humidity level up past the normal setting (saving energy), and the following morning had to adjust it upwards again as the humidity level was 39%.

Temperatures in the mid to upper 80’s arrived on May 11 through May 12 and the air conditioner serving the home did not turn on until 8:30 pm, May 12. The lowered humidity level achieved comfort levels in the home never before experienced.

The employee said, “Within 45 seconds after toweling off after a shower my skin was completely dry. My wife commented that the comfort level throughout the entire home was significantly higher, the air smelled very fresh, and she couldn’t believe the air conditioner had not turned on until the evening of the second day of 85+ degree temperatures. She especially liked getting ready for work comfortably in front of the bathroom sink/mirror after her shower without dampness of any kind.”

He went on to say that the basement is warm, comfortable, and is maintaining the same temperature as the main level, unlike most basements during air conditioning season in the Northwest Indiana region. This is an unexpected benefit we didn’t anticipate.

Relative humidity levels at or below 50% eliminate the chance for mold or mildew colonies to grow, and dust mites cannot survive at these proper humidity levels. Whole house dehumidifiers can help allergy and asthma sufferers by effectively eliminating these sources of allergen triggers.

February 15 – 18, 2011 - Kent Heating and Air Conditioning employees Allen Kent, Don Staack, Bob Nichols, and Greg Rudd attended the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) national conference in San Antonio, Texas (see www.acca.org). The conference brings together the top contracting firms in the nation for three days of learning labs, an Indoor Air Expo featuring the industry leading manufacturers showing the latest in HVAC and business technology, Quality Assurance programs, and other leading edge offerings from the largest, most respected association in the HVAC industry.

Dec. 7-9, 2010 - Kent Heating and Air Conditioning is now an International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) Certified Installer for Geothermal systems after Allen Kent attended a rigorous three day class and successfully passed a final exam in Indianapolis. The class focused on all aspects of proper geothermal design and installation, which will help ensure Kent’s customers are receiving the highest quality geothermal installations in the Northwest Indiana region.
